There’s a great article in this month’s Wired magazine, which further shows just how flat technology is making the world. In the article titled, “Rise of the Instapreneur”, Ian Mount provides several examples of companies who are using the Internet to connect with other companies all over the world in order to offer their products to consumers. Even some large companies are getting into the swing, Lexus used Blurb’s service to manufacture it’s own book which outlines it’s Green Initiative.
Welcome to the age of the instapreneur. With nothing more than a design, amateurs can manufacture jewelry, robots, T-shirts, furntiture – anything. No warehouses. No minimum orders.
Thanks to technology, companies of all sizes now have access to services which used to be reserved for only the largest companies. Start thinking about your company can benefit from this type of service.
BTW, if you still haven’t read The World is Flat, why the heck not! Get a copy now, and make sure you read it twice!
