I’ve noticed that a new type of procrastination is starting to affect quite a few people! If you live in a northern climate like myself I am sure that you are just starting to fight with it right now. I like to refer to it as “patio procrastination”. Although this type of procrastination isn’t as frowned on as the other’s, it can be just as deadly!
Here are my suggestions on how to deal with “Patio Procrastination”:
- Keep your vision close. By now you all know how I feel about the power of a passionate vision. This will help you keep your eye on the ball!
- Get outside. What? You just said to keep your eye on the ball. I know I did, but I find that getting out does wonders for opening up the mind, and as long as you don’t spend all your free time on the patio the fresh air, and warmer weather will do wonders for your outlook.
- Rethink your task list. I’m in favour of a detailed task list – as long as the items drive you towards your vision. Now’s a great time to re-evaluate the items on the list and ensure that they all still make sense. No one ever said that your vision wouldn’t change, so don’t be afraid to cross off some items that just don’t apply any longer.
So there you have it – short and sweet. These are my techniques for fighting the endless call of the patio, what are yours?
