I have just finished reading this book, and I would have to say that it’s one of my favourite business books in what seems to be a very long time. Kawasaki’s informal writing style and get to the point attitude made this a very engaging and inspiring read.
If I could sum up the message that I got from this book in a few words they would simply be – just get out there and do it.
If you’re truly passionate about your idea, build a prototype of it and get selling it – now! Don’t get bogged down in planning (at least at the very beginning), continually test your idea, see how your potential customers receive it and never, never stop improving on your original idea.
I would strongly recommend this book to anyone who has a business idea and doesn’t really know where to get started.
Kawasaki’s book reminded me of another favourite of mine, “The Beermat Entrepreneur” by Mike Southon and Chris West – its very similar in the fact that Southon suggests that entrepreneurs don’t get overwhelmed by the planning process and get out there and follow their dreams. I think that I will pull this book off my bookshelf and have another read.
