There’s lots of research out there that suggests that your chances of being successful in whatever you do are much greater if you have written goals for yourself. I believe that this is 110% true.
I remember reading at a Harvard Business School study which tracked graduates from Yale and found that of all the students only 3% had written goals. When the study followed up with those graduating students it found that the 3% with goals were much more successful than the 97% who did not take the time to _write_ down their goals. It’s been quite a while since I’ve read the study and I cannot remember what the definition of “successful” was exactly, but I am sure that they measured success on overall financial status, and possible even corporate standing, by that I mean what the level of responsibility the graduates had in their companies
So get some of your goals down on paper today, just make sure that the follow the SMART principle.
S – Simple
M – Measurable
A – Achievable
R – Realistic
T – Timely
